Nubians bringing tribute

People from the southern regions of Egypt present their tribute to King Thutmose IV , around 1400 B.C.

The first man carries rings of gold, while the second balances an ebony log on his shoulder and holds a giraffe’s tail in his other hand. The third man bears a bowl filled with pieces of jasper and a leopard skin, with a monkey perched on his shoulder.

These scenes depict Nubians presenting tribute of gold to Thutmose IV during the New Kingdom, in the reign of Thutmose IV around 1400 B.C.

They come from the Tomb of Sobekhotep (TT63), the treasurer and mayor of the Southern Lake and the Land of Sobek in the Faiyum, located at Sheikh Abd el-Qurna in Thebes.
