No Way Up (2024)

No Way Up (2024) is a high-stakes survival thriller that plunges disaster cinema into deep water with a harrowing airplane crash and relentless predator danger. Directed by Claudio Fäh and written by Andy Mayson, the film follows a group of unlikely survivors trapped inside the submerged wreckage of a commercial jet after it plunges into the Pacific Ocean near an underwater ravine, forcing them to fight for every breath as blood-thirsty sharks circle outside.

Sophie McIntosh stars as Ava, the determined daughter of a California governor who must find courage and leadership amid escalating terror. Alongside her, Will Attenborough plays Kyle, a traumatized young man battling fear of the water, Jeremias Amoore is Jed, and Manuel Pacific portrays Danilo, one of the few capable allies in their desperate bid for survival. Veteran actors Colm Meaney and Phyllis Logan bring depth and experience as Brandon, a protective minder, and Mardy “Nana”, a former army nurse who adds heart and grit to the group’s struggle.

Trapped in an air pocket deep below the surface, the survivors must cope with limited oxygen, crushing pressure, and the terrifying presence of a shark that attacks both inside and outside the fuselage — turning every decision into a brutal fight for life. With tense underwater sequences and claustrophobic suspense, No Way Up blends disaster film thrills with creature danger, delivering a gritty picture of human endurance in the face of overwhelming odds.
