Alien: Romulus (2024)

Alien: Romulus (2024) is a chilling science-fiction horror film that revives the legendary Alien franchise by returning to its eerie, claustrophobic roots. Directed and co-written by Fede Álvarez, the movie is set between the original Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986) and follows a group of young space colonists who, while searching an abandoned space station for a way to escape their oppressive lives, unwittingly come face-to-face with the universe’s deadliest life form — the terrifying Xenomorphs.
At the center of the story is Cailee Spaeny as Rain Carradine, a determined and resourceful woman desperate to break free from a harsh mining colony, whose courage is pushed to the breaking point once horror strikes. David Jonsson plays Andy, a synthetic android with deep emotional ties to Rain, whose evolving loyalty adds compelling tension to the group’s survival struggle.
Archie Renaux appears as Tyler, Rain’s ex-boyfriend and fellow scavenger, while Isabela Merced, Spike Fearn, and Aileen Wu round out the crew whose dreams of freedom unravel into a desperate battle for life.
Blending intense horror, atmospheric world-building, and visceral action against Xenomorph threats, Alien: Romulus reinvigorates the franchise with a fresh ensemble cast and a haunting story of survival in the far reaches of space.
