From Elon Musk and Bill Gates to the Norwegian Crown Princess: Prominent Figures Named in the Epstein Files

More high-profile names have continued to surface following the latest release of millions of documents related to the late American sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

A newly released trove of files made public on Friday, tied to investigations into Epstein — who had previously been convicted of sex crimes — contains numerous references to influential figures in politics, business, and royalty.

Among the most widely discussed names appearing in the documents are U.S. President Donald Trump, tech billionaire Elon Musk, and Prince Andrew, the former British royal.

Below are notable details regarding several other individuals mentioned in the files — none of whom are accused of criminal wrongdoing.

Bill Gates, Microsoft Co-Founder
In a draft email included in the files, Jeffrey Epstein alleged that Bill Gates had engaged in an extramarital affair.

Epstein claimed that his relationship with Gates ranged from “helping Bill obtain medication to deal with the aftermath of sexual encounters with Russian girls, to facilitating his discreet meetings with married women.”

The Gates Foundation, in a statement to The New York Times, strongly denied the allegations of infidelity.

Richard Branson, Founder of Virgin Group
The documents indicate a friendly relationship between the two billionaires. In an email sent to Epstein on September 11, 2013, Richard Branson wrote: “Great to see you yesterday. The watersports guys can’t stop talking! Whenever you’re nearby, would love to catch up again. As long as you bring your ‘harem’!”

A spokesperson for Branson’s company stated that “any contact between Sir Richard and Joan Branson with Epstein occurred only on a few rare occasions more than 12 years ago, and solely in group or professional settings, such as a charity tennis event.”

“Sir Richard believes Epstein’s actions were reprehensible and supports justice for his many victims.”

The spokesperson added that Branson would never have used the term “harem” had he known the full facts, and that he was merely repeating language used by Epstein himself.

Steve Tisch, Film Producer
Several emails show Epstein connecting 76-year-old Steve Tisch — producer of acclaimed films such as Forrest Gump and Risky Business, and co-owner of the New York Giants — with various women.

In one exchange with Tisch, Epstein described a woman as “Russian, rarely tells the full truth, but fun.”

Mette-Marit, Crown Princess of Norway
According to media reports, Crown Princess Mette-Marit, the wife of Norway’s Crown Prince, is mentioned hundreds of times in the documents. Her past association with Epstein had already been known for several years.

Particular attention has focused on emails regarding a visit to Epstein’s Palm Beach estate in Florida in 2013. The Norwegian Royal House confirmed to broadcaster NRK that Mette-Marit borrowed the property through a mutual friend and met the financier during the trip.

However, Guri Varpe, spokesperson for the Norwegian Royal House, stated that Mette-Marit never stayed on Epstein’s private multi-million-dollar island, Little Saint James.

On Friday evening, Mette-Marit issued an apology, saying she “did not conduct sufficient background checks on Epstein” and regretted “having had any contact with him at all.”

“It is deeply regrettable,” she added, expressing “profound sympathy” and solidarity with the victims of Epstein’s crimes.

The release of the explosive emails comes at a particularly sensitive time for Mette-Marit, as her eldest son, Marius Borg Høiby, is scheduled to appear in court next Tuesday to face rape allegations and other charges.
