Singer Marc Anthony, who has been accused of sparking tension at the wedding of Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz, has claimed that the version of events circulating online is not entirely accurate.

According to The Sun, Marc Anthony has recently been drawn into the ongoing controversy surrounding the Beckham family. He has been blamed for unintentionally creating “drama” during Brooklyn and Nicola’s wedding reception. Reports allege that instead of inviting the bride onto the dance floor, Marc called Victoria Beckham on stage to share the first dance with the groom. The situation reportedly became even more awkward when the MC referred to Victoria as “the most beautiful woman in the room,” leaving Nicola feeling hurt and in tears.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Marc Anthony declined to comment in detail on the alleged rift between Brooklyn and his parents. However, he stressed that much of what has been shared on social media does not fully reflect the truth.
“They are a wonderful family. I’ve known them since before the kids were born. I’m the godfather of Cruz Beckham, and I’m very close to them,” Marc said. “I have nothing to say about what happened there. It’s truly unfortunate, but the story being told isn’t exactly how things went.”

Sources note that Marc Anthony has long been a close friend of the Beckham family. He reportedly met David Beckham around 2005, when Beckham was playing for Real Madrid. David is also the godfather of Marc’s son, Marquis Muniz, and even served as a groomsman at Marc’s wedding to Nadia Ferreira in January 2023.

Previously, a source told People that just before the music began, Marc Anthony invited Brooklyn onto the stage and announced: “The most beautiful woman in the room tonight, please come up here… Victoria Beckham!”

Another insider claimed the entire room fell silent after the remark, as many expected Nicola, the bride, to be called up for the traditional first dance with the groom.

In a lengthy six-page post that later went viral, Brooklyn himself reportedly referenced the embarrassing moment at the wedding. He alleged that his mother performed “highly inappropriate” dances with him in front of guests from both families. “I have never felt so uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life,” Brooklyn wrote.

According to People, several attendees witnessed Nicola breaking down in tears after seeing her mother-in-law take over the dance. She was said to have left the room shortly afterward.

Meanwhile, friends of the Beckham family have strongly denied claims that Victoria intentionally tried to steal the spotlight from her daughter-in-law. Instead, they reportedly criticized Nicola, describing her as spoiled and accusing her of throwing a “tantrum.”
