Justin Bieber Likes Comment on 2016 Kissing Photo With Selena Gomez, Stirring Buzz Online
Singer Justin Bieber sparked social media chatter after liking a congratulatory comment on a 2016 Instagram post showing him kissing Selena Gomez.

The photo, originally shared by Bieber on Instagram on March 20, 2016, resurfaced over the weekend after a fan noticed that the singer had liked a recent comment. The commenter, Aurora (@auro_lv2l), wrote in Spanish, “Vivan los noviosss” (“Long live the newlyweds”), accompanied by three heart emojis.
Aurora and other fans soon realized that the like came from Bieber’s verified account (@lilbieber). To dispel doubts, she posted screenshots on her Instagram Stories showing the verified like, adding, “Anyone who thinks this is fake can complain elsewhere.”
As the incident spread across X and thousands of fans flooded the post with comments, Bieber reportedly returned to the photo and removed the like—though he did not delete the image itself. Several fans had already captured screenshots before the like disappeared.
The move came just days after Bieber’s wife, model Hailey Bieber, reposted the same 2016 kissing photo of Justin with the caption, “You had to be there to understand.”

At the time the photo was taken, Justin and Hailey were dating briefly but not exclusively, and they split after a few months. Justin later reunited with Selena Gomez before the pair broke up in early 2018. By mid-2018, Justin rekindled his relationship with Hailey, proposing in July and marrying her in September that year.
Justin and Hailey have been together for nearly eight years. Despite recurring rumors of trouble, they remain close and welcomed their first child, Jack Blues Bieber, in August 2024. Meanwhile, Selena Gomez married musician Benny Blanco in September 2025, following five years of being single after her decade-long, on-and-off relationship with Justin ended.
