Pop star Katy Perry has shared photos with former Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau for the first time, marking her public debut of their relationship on social media.

On December 6, Perry posted a series of photos and videos on Instagram from their recent outings in Tokyo, captioned: “Tokyo tour and so much more.” The post also included snapshots of playful souvenirs, local cuisine, and congratulatory flower baskets celebrating the success of her shows in Japan. Within an hour, the post had drawn more than 50,000 likes and over 2,000 comments, with fans largely congratulating the singer on finding new happiness.

Perry wrapped up two nights of her Lifetimes Tour on December 3 and 4 at Tokyo’s Saitama Super Arena. Trudeau traveled to Japan in early December to visit her. On December 1, the pair were spotted having dinner at the Asakusa Sumo Stable Annex, and two days later they paid a visit to former Japanese prime minister Fumio Kishida and his wife. On December 4, Kishida shared a photo with the couple on X, referring to Perry as Trudeau’s “partner.”

Perry and Trudeau publicly confirmed their relationship on October 25—coinciding with the singer’s 41st birthday—after months of dating rumors. A source told People that the couple are planning a winter getaway following the completion of Perry’s Lifetimes Tour, which began in April and concludes with a final show in Abu Dhabi on December 7.

Perry, 41, is a Grammy-nominated American singer-songwriter and one of the defining pop icons of the 2010s. In July, she ended her long-term engagement to actor Orlando Bloom; the former couple share a five-year-old daughter, Daisy.

Trudeau, 54, served as Canada’s prime minister from 2015

to 2025, becoming the country’s second-youngest leader. He announced his resignation in January and revealed his separation from wife Sophie Grégoire in August 2023 after 18 years of marriage; they have three children together.
