Richard Rosewarne, one of the children who was 11 at the time, recalled:

“George bit the Pit Bulls on the head and back to stop them from hurting us. It was terrifying, but he protected us.”

The injuries George sustained were severe. Despite immediate help from bystanders, the wounds were too serious, leading to a heartbreaking decision by the veterinarian.

Alan Gay, George’s owner, recalled:
