Emma Stone Named the World’s Most Beautiful Woman by the Golden Ratio

According to a report published by Daily Mail on November 12, a new study applying the ancient Greek golden ratio has named Emma Stone as the woman with the most beautiful face in the world.
The Oscar-winning actress—best known for films such as Poor Things, Cruella, and La La Land—achieved a facial accuracy score of 94.72% when measured against the golden ratio, a formula long regarded as a benchmark of ideal beauty.

Golden Ratio Study Puts Emma Stone Near Perfection
Dr. Julian De Silva, director of the Centre for Advanced Facial Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery in London, explained that Emma Stone ranked first overall when every facial feature was analyzed according to classical ideals of harmony and proportion.
“Emma Stone came out on top when all elements of the face were measured for physical perfection,” he said. “She scored highest for her eyebrows (94.2%) and consistently ranked near the top across all other categories. Her jawline is almost perfect at 97%, and her lips scored 95.6%. Emma leads because of her exceptional balance across every feature.”
The study also highlighted other celebrities whose faces ranked highly by scientific standards, including Zendaya, Beyoncé, and Margot Robbie.
To determine the rankings, Dr. De Silva used advanced computer-based facial mapping technology. “This technology allows us to decode what makes physical beauty,” he explained. “It’s also a valuable tool for surgical planning with patients.”

What Is the Golden Ratio?
The golden ratio is a mathematical equation developed in ancient Greece to measure aesthetic balance and beauty. It can be applied to natural objects, architecture, and the human body, and was famously used by Leonardo da Vinci in his drawing Vitruvian Man to illustrate ideal male proportions.
The principle suggests that faces or bodies with proportions closest to 1.618 (Phi) are perceived as most attractive. Although Emma Stone topped the list, all ten women ranked were found to be very close to 100% perfection by this metric.

The Top 10 Women by Golden Ratio
Zendaya placed second with a score of 94.37%, earning especially high marks for her lips (99.5%), eyes (97.3%), and forehead (98%), though she lost points for nose positioning and eyebrow shape.
Third place went to Freida Pinto with 94.34%, followed closely by Vanessa Kirby at 94.31%. Jenna Ortega scored the highest forehead rating (99.6%) but received her lowest score for overall face shape (88%).
The rest of the top 10 included Olivia Rodrigo (93.71%), Margot Robbie (93.43%), Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (93.41%), Thang Duy (93.08%), and Beyoncé, who rounded out the list with 92.4%. Beyoncé excelled in face shape (99.6%), eyes, eyebrows, and lips, but lost points for nose positioning.

Not the First Time the Formula Has Been Used
This is not the first time Dr. Julian De Silva has applied the golden ratio to rank attractiveness. In 2024, he used the same method to identify the world’s most handsome men, with Aaron Taylor-Johnson topping the list at 93.04%, ahead of Lucien Laviscount, Paul Mescal, and Robert Pattinson.
“Aaron is the clear winner when all facial elements are measured for perfection,” Dr. De Silva noted. “With 93.04%, he would even be the most handsome James Bond in history if cast in the role.”

How the Golden Ratio Is Measured
To calculate the golden ratio in facial analysis, scientists measure the length and width of the face and compare key vertical distances—such as from the hairline to the eyes, from the eyes to the base of the nose, and from the nose to the chin.

The closer these proportions are to one another—and to the ratio of 1:1.618—the more attractive the face is considered. Symmetry and the relationship between individual features also play a crucial role in the final assessment.
