An American living in Abu Dhabi has described the terrifying moment a missile strike lit up the night sky as the Middle East conflict rapidly escalates. The witness said loud warning alerts suddenly echoed across the city before powerful explosions were heard in the distance. Moments later, air-defense systems launched interceptor missiles, creating bright flashes and thunderous booms above the skyline.
Residents rushed indoors as debris reportedly fell in parts of the city after projectiles were intercepted. According to reports, hundreds of missiles and drones have been launched across the region during the ongoing confrontation involving the U.S., Israel, and Iran, with most intercepted by regional air defenses.
The American described the scene as “surreal and frightening,” saying the sky briefly turned orange as anti-missile systems engaged incoming threats. Despite the chaos, authorities say most attacks were intercepted, though falling debris and shockwaves caused damage in parts of the UAE and other Gulf cities.
Flights have been canceled across the region, leaving thousands of travelers and expatriates stranded as tensions continue to rise.
