After finishing a Pilates class one day, a woman was heading home when something made her stop in her tracks. Faint tiny cries echoed from nearby, barely noticeable over the sounds of the street. Curious and concerned, she followed the sound until she realized it was coming from under a parked car. Peeking underneath, she spotted a small, frightened kitten hiding in the shadows.
The little kitten was clearly scared and alone, crying out desperately but too nervous to come out. Most people might have paused for a moment and then continued on their way — but she couldn’t bring herself to leave him there. Instead, she decided she would stay until he was safe.
Armed with patience, a carrier, and a few treats, she sat down on the pavement beside the car and began trying to coax the kitten out. At first, he refused to budge, staying hidden and wary of the unfamiliar human nearby. Minutes turned into hours.
Still, she remained there, speaking softly and offering treats, determined to earn the kitten’s trust. Slowly, the little stray began inching closer, curiosity starting to overcome his fear. Finally, after a long wait, the tiny kitten gathered enough courage to step out from under the car. The moment he was safely in her arms, everything changed.
The once-frightened kitten immediately began kneading her with his tiny paws — making “biscuits” — a sign of comfort and trust. Exhausted from the ordeal, he soon curled up against her chest and fell fast asleep, as if he knew he was finally safe.
By the end of that day, the kitten who had been crying alone under a car had a new name: Mr. Bug. And more importantly, he had a home.
Now Mr. Bug’s life looks completely different. Instead of hiding beneath cars and calling out for help, he spends his days exploring his new surroundings, getting spoiled with love, and meeting his new feline sibling.
