There is no bond stronger than a mother’s love, even in the darkest of times. We found this brave Mama Dog in the most heartbreaking condition—abandoned, shivering in the cold, and shielding her tiny babies with her own frail body.
“Hold me, it’s cold,” her eyes seemed to beg as she tucked her head down, crying desperately for her pups’ safety. Even while she was starving and weak, her only priority was keeping her babies warm against the freezing wind of the abandoned building.
But today, the shivering ends. We didn’t just rescue them; we kept them together. We’ve been working hard building a brand-new house—a safe haven where this mama will never have to worry about where her next meal comes from or if her babies are safe.
The Happy Ending: From the cold, lonely concrete to a warm bed and a full belly. Seeing the wagging tails of the puppies and the relief in Mama’s eyes is the greatest reward we could ever ask for.
