Iran Destroys $300M U.S. Radar — Swift Retaliation Unleashed

In a significant escalation of the ongoing conflict, Iran has reportedly destroyed a high-value U.S. missile defense radar system, dealing a notable blow to American and allied air defense capabilities in the Middle East.

According to multiple reports citing U.S. officials and satellite imagery, the strike targeted an AN/TPY-2 radar, a critical component of the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system, at an air base in Jordan. The radar plays a central role in detecting and tracking incoming ballistic missiles, effectively serving as the “eyes” of the missile defense network.

The destruction of the system—valued at approximately $300 million—has created a temporary gap in high-altitude missile tracking and interception capability in the region. Analysts say this could force greater reliance on lower-tier systems like Patriot batteries, which are already under strain.

Satellite images appear to confirm that the radar and its support equipment were destroyed during the early phase of the conflict, marking one of Iran’s most impactful strikes against U.S. military infrastructure so far.
