MILEI PICKS ANOTHER ENEMY: NOW HE’S GOING AFTER RUSSIA. ONCE AGAIN WITH HIS IMAGINARY FOES nt

Milei’s enemy list keeps growing. Since taking power he hasn’t stopped waging diplomatic wars with half the world: he called China and Brazil “communist countries” he wanted no relations with, declared Iran “our enemy” while proclaiming himself “the most Zionist president in the world,” expelled Iran’s diplomat on Malvinas Day, and now has the relationship with Russia completely frozen. Argentina, a country with no relevant military capability, is stacking up enemies as if it were a superpower.

The tension with Russia goes way back. Milei invited Zelensky to his inauguration, joined the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, and fully aligned with Washington. Russia’s ambassador in Buenos Aires openly admitted the bilateral relationship is “frozen.” Moscow even launched covert disinformation operations to destabilize his government, as Milei’s own spokesperson confirmed in 2025.

While Milei picks fights with Iran, Russia, China, and half the continent, all of Latin America watches from a distance. Brazil, Chile, Bolivia, Venezuela and Cuba condemned the war on Iran. Argentina was the only country in the region that celebrated the bombings. Milei stands alone in the hemisphere, but he seems to enjoy it.
