“WE COULD CONQUER SPACE, BUT WHAT MATTERS IS SAVING THE WORLD WE LIVE IN” nt

While the world watches the space race between the United States and China, Beijing makes its philosophy clear: the planet first, the stars second. A stance that contrasts with those betting everything on colonizing Mars or mining asteroids while Earth burns.

China's Self-Defeating Strategy | Foreign Affairs

The facts back the discourse. Xi Jinping expressed it at the Climate Leaders’ Summit: “Let us intensify our actions to realize the beautiful vision of harmony between man and nature, and preserve planet Earth, the place we call home”.

China leads the global energy transition. It is the world’s leading producer of solar panels, batteries, and electric vehicles. Its industry and science, as even Spanish President Pedro Sánchez acknowledged from Tsinghua, are transforming the fight against global warming and reducing poverty.

And still, the Chinese space program doesn’t stop, but with a different approach: Tianwen-2 asteroid missions, Shenzhou-23, Chang’e-7 to the Moon in 2026. All under the banner of “peaceful use of space” for the “benefit of all peoples”, not as unilateral conquest.
