💔 “THOUSANDS OF MILES FOR A HEART BEAT: LITTLE ORLA’S LIFE-SAVING SURGERY” ❤️

Little Orla is far from home today—not because she chose to travel, but because her life depends on it.

Born with a serious heart condition, she comes from a place where the surgery she desperately needs simply isn’t available. For many children like her, that reality becomes a sentence no family ever wants to hear.

But Orla’s story took a different path.

Thanks to the Children’s Heart Project, she was able to travel thousands of miles to reach a hospital where specialized surgeons are capable of repairing her heart valve through delicate open-heart surgery.

Right now, as this story is being read, she is lying on an operating table far away from everything familiar—her home, her language, her comfort—surrounded instead by machines, medical teams, and hope.

For her family, it means placing their trust in strangers in a foreign country and holding onto faith that those hands will give their daughter a future.

The Children’s Heart Project has spent nearly three decades doing exactly this kind of work, helping more than 1,600 children from around the world receive life-saving cardiac care that would otherwise be out of reach. Each child represents a story that could have ended far too soon—but didn’t.

Orla is one of them.

Her surgery today is made possible by people who believe something simple but powerful: that every child deserves a chance to live, no matter where they are born.

When she wakes up and begins her recovery, she won’t just be healing from surgery. She will be carrying something much bigger—a second chance at childhood, at laughter, at growing up.

But right now, she is still in the fight.

And while skilled surgeons work to repair her tiny heart, people around the world are hoping and praying that everything goes exactly as it should.

Because distance doesn’t matter in moments like this.
Neither do borders.
Only a child fighting to live.

Please keep Orla and her family in your thoughts tonight as she undergoes surgery far from home. ❤️🕊️
