Officers responded on June 8, 2026, to the intersection of Southern Village Drive and Hayes Place after reports of a crash and possible shots fired. When they arrived, they located a man in the area who had been involved in the incident.

The victim was identified as Octavier Jones.

According to police, the situation began as a domestic dispute between Octavier and his wife, Antonea Jones, which quickly turned physical.

Investigators allege that during the altercation, Antonea struck Octavier with a hammer and also used the tool to damage his vehicle. Police say Octavier was able to disarm her during the struggle.

Authorities further state that Antonea then entered her vehicle and struck both Octavier and his car, escalating the confrontation into a dangerous pursuit.

Investigators say Octavier attempted to flee the scene, but Antonea followed him, leading to a second confrontation near the intersection.

During that encounter, police report that two shots were fired. No further details regarding the firearm discharge have been released at this stage of the investigation.

Following the incident, Antonea Jones reportedly left the area. She later turned herself in to police on June 15, 2026.

She has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, two counts of discharging a weapon into occupied property, misdemeanor domestic violence, and misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon.

Authorities confirm she is currently being held in custody without bond as the case proceeds.

Investigators continue to review evidence and witness statements to determine the full sequence of events that led to the confrontation.
