Man Accused of Killing Thai Teen Found in Suitcase Charged with Murder

PATTAYA, Thailand — The Australian man accused of murdering a 17-year-old Thai girl whose body was discovered stuffed in a suitcase has been formally charged with murder, according to reports.
Simon Carman, 46, was arrested at Suvarnabhumi International Airport while attempting to flee the country. Thai authorities say he faces multiple charges, including murder, in connection with the death of Thanchanok Donhomlao.
The teen’s body was found abandoned near railway tracks after CCTV footage allegedly showed Carman dragging a large suitcase from a condominium and loading it onto a motorcycle.
Police noted scratch marks on Carman’s neck and arms when he was detained. He has denied involvement in the girl’s death.
