Geanna Bradley should’ve been worried about homework, cartoons, and playing with friends—not surviving the people entrusted with her care.
Police say Geanna was starved, beaten, duct-taped, locked on an enclosed porch, and forced to sleep in a box inside a home in Wahiawa, Hawaii. On January 18, 2024, her little body could fight no more. The medical examiner determined she died from starvation, repeated assaults, pneumonia, prolonged restraint, and severe neglect.
Authorities charged her legal guardians—Brandy Blas, Thomas Blas Sr., and Debra Geron—with murder, kidnapping, and child abuse.
The part that breaks my heart the most? Geanna was reportedly pulled out of public school in 2022 to be “homeschooled.” Prosecutors say investigators found photos on cell phones allegedly showing her bound and blindfolded with duct tape. Behind closed doors, no teacher, counselor, or classmate was there to see what she was enduring.
Even more heartbreaking, reports indicate the biological children in the home showed no signs of abuse.
