A Family Still Searching for Justice

What began as a routine trip to purchase a used ATV ended in unimaginable tragedy for 26-year-old Kyle Daniel Craig, a husband and father whose life was cut short under heartbreaking circumstances.

According to investigators, Craig left home after arranging to meet sellers through Facebook Marketplace. Authorities allege that the meeting was part of a planned robbery targeting him for cash.

Police say Craig was fatally shot, and his body was later discovered along a roadside. The case has left his family grieving the loss of a young man they remember as a devoted husband, loving father, and someone who always put his family first.

Prosecutors have charged five individuals in connection with the case: Parveion Harris, Darius Erving, Montavious Landfair, Brock Banks, and Akarion Johnson. Court records indicate that Darius Erving has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after resolving his case. The criminal cases involving the other four defendants remain pending, and the allegations against them have not yet been proven in court.

The tragedy has also renewed public attention to the importance of exercising caution when arranging in-person transactions with strangers through online marketplaces. Law enforcement agencies often encourage buyers and sellers to meet in designated safe exchange locations, preferably in well-lit public areas or at police stations that provide monitored exchange zones.
