For more than two months, 12-year-old Xavier Taylor has remained in a coma after a baseball accidentally struck him in the neck during warmups before a youth game in New Jersey.

I wish I could tell you today that Xavier has awakened. I wish I had a major medical update to share.
I don’t.
But his family has continued to hold tightly to their faith, and now they are asking the people who have followed Xavier’s journey to come together in a powerful way: prayer and fasting.
On May 26, Xavier was warming up before a baseball game with Maple Shade Youth Baseball when an errant throw from a teammate struck him in the neck. He collapsed on the field and went into cardiac arrest before being airlifted to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where he has remained in critical condition on a ventilator.
His father, Greg Taylor — a retired firefighter who rushed to his son’s side that day — has repeatedly described it as a freak accident with no one to blame. The family has leaned on their deep faith through every difficult day, believing in miracles and holding onto the hope that Xavier will one day walk out of the hospital and return to the game he loves.

As the weeks have stretched into more than two months without the breakthrough they so desperately long for, the Taylors are now inviting everyone who has been following Xavier’s story to join them in a season of prayer and fasting — a collective act of faith and intercession on behalf of their son.
They continue to ask for continued prayers, support, and belief that God can still do what only He can do.
Please keep Xavier and his family in your hearts.
