Funeral Statue of Qebehsenouf

This hawk-headed statue represents Qebehsenouf, one of the Four Sons of Horus and the protector of the intestines.

In ancient Egyptian belief, each of these divine sons safeguarded a specific internal organ of the deceased, ensuring protection and renewal in the afterlife. Qebehsenouf, often shown as a ๐˜ฎ๐˜ถ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฎ๐˜ช๐˜ง๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ๐˜ฎ figure, is here depicted in stucco and painted wood, a combination that preserves both color and texture.
