The young Deaf actress, best known as Jia in Godzilla vs. Kong and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, has died after a car accident in Maryland.
To many viewers, Kaylee was the girl who made Kong feel human.
As Jia, she didn’t need big speeches. Her silence, her signing, her eyes, and her bond with Kong carried so much emotion that she became one of the softest hearts in a world full of monsters.

But Kaylee was more than one role.
She came from a multi-generational Deaf family, attended the Texas School for the Deaf, competed in track and field, and used her screen time to show what representation can really mean.
Her message to anyone watching her was simple and beautiful:
“Believe in yourself and be true to yourself.”
