SHE NEVER MET HER IN PERSON—LINDSAY CLANCY’S PSYCHIATRIST TAKES CENTER STAGE AS FIERY COURTROOM GRILLING EXPOSES SH0CKING QUESTIONS ABOUT THE DRU-GS SHE PRESCRIBED
Dr Jennifer Tufts has become one of the most closely watched figures in Lindsay Clancy’s trial after taking the stand as a prosecution expert witness.
The 37-year-old psychiatrist treated Clancy remotely and prescribed multiple psychiatric medications during the four months before the deaths of her three children. Her testimony then came under intense pressure during a fiery cross-examination by defense attorney Kevin Reddington.
Her frustrated demeanor, hesitant answers and apparent lack of preparation have now become a major talking point inside the courtroom.
But the most uncomfortable question may be bigger than one witness: how much can a doctor truly understand about a patient’s rapidly changing mental state when they never met face-to-face?.
