A Final Walk of Honor

A Final Walk of Honor
Tonight, a family is preparing to say goodbye to young Leo in the most heartbreaking yet beautiful way imaginable.
On July 22, what should have been a joyful afternoon at a friend’s birthday party ended in tragedy when a tree branch fell and claimed Leo’s life. In an instant, the laughter and celebration were replaced by unimaginable loss.
This Thursday evening, Leo will make his final journey through the halls of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta during an Honor Walk. Doctors, nurses, first responders, family, friends, and members of his Boy Scout troop will line the corridors in quiet tribute. They will stand together to honor a boy whose time on this earth was far too short, yet whose impact continues to grow.
Before the Honor Walk begins, his Scout troop will raise a flag in his name—a simple, powerful gesture that speaks of loyalty, courage, and the values Leo carried with him.

His family has shared these words that carry both sorrow and light: “Though Leo’s journey ended early, his legacy shines brightly in our lives.”
Even in the depth of their grief, Leo is giving an extraordinary final gift. Through organ donation, he will offer other families the chance for more time, more hope, and more tomorrows with the people they love.
Please hold Leo’s parents, his family, his friends, his Scout troop, the medical team who cared for him, and everyone who loved him in your thoughts and prayers. May they find strength, comfort, and peace as they walk with him one last time.
