Two years ago, doctors told this young Texas mom there were no more treatment options. Today, they gave her the news her family had been praying for for 27 long months.

Abby, a 25-year-old mom from Natalia, Texas, is officially **cancer-free.**

Her journey has inspired thousands.

Twenty-seven months ago, Abby was diagnosed with **acute myeloid leukemia (AML),** one of the most aggressive forms of blood cancer. By the time doctors found it, her family says more than 80% of her body was filled with leukemia cells.

Just days before her diagnosis, she had celebrated her daughter Sophia’s first birthday, never imagining she was about to begin the fight of her life.

After months of chemotherapy and hospital stays, doctors told her family there were no more treatment options and that she would not survive.

But her family refused to lose hope.

They found a new chance at MD Anderson, where Abby qualified for a clinical trial that changed everything.

The road was incredibly difficult. She endured chemotherapy, surgeries, sepsis, countless biopsies and medical procedures, and lost her right leg along with several toes on her left foot.

Then another miracle happened.

Her younger sister was a perfect stem cell match, giving Abby a second chance at life.

This week, Abby underwent another biopsy. As the family waited for the results, her 3-year-old daughter, Sophia, prayed for her mommy.

Then came the words they had dreamed of hearing:

**”She is officially in full remission.”**

Her family says she won’t need another biopsy for six months, and with every milestone, her future continues to look brighter.

Despite everything cancer took from her, it never took her determination. Abby now hopes to finish school, become a physician assistant, and one day work at MD Anderson, helping other families facing the same battle she overcame.

Her mom shared a powerful message for anyone fighting cancer:

*”Stay strong. It may be one of the hardest battles you’ll ever face, but with faith, prayer, and the support of those who love you, never lose hope.”*
