What began as what seemed like a simple fever quickly turned into every parent’s worst nightmare.
Just two days after being admitted to the hospital, 2-year-old Marcelina was diagnosed with **stage V Wilms tumors affecting both of her kidneys**.
Since then, she has endured an incredibly difficult journey. Chemotherapy has drained her energy and taken away her appetite. During surgery, doctors discovered additional tumors they hadn’t fully expected. She also had one adrenal gland removed, and her heart function has declined, adding even more challenges to her recovery.
Doctors have told the family that Marcelina’s medical journey will likely continue for the rest of her life.
Through it all, this brave little girl has never stopped fighting.
Her family has remained by her side every step of the way, surrounding her with love, strength, and hope as they face each new challenge together. Marcelina’s courage is a powerful reminder of the incredible resilience children can show, even in the hardest moments.
