Newborn Found Between Parked Cars in Tlalnepantla Is Taken Into State Care
In the San Lucas Tepetlacalco neighborhood of Tlalnepantla, State of Mexico, a passerby noticed a blue bundle — described in local reports as blankets or a shopping bag — left between vehicles. Movement and a high-pitched cry led the person to look closer. Inside was an infant a few days old, wrapped only in light cloth.
Municipal police and Civil Protection paramedics were called. They treated the baby for early hypothermia and checked vital signs. One officer bought formula and a bottle; a female officer held and fed the child. Milenio reported the boy wore a yellow onesie and diaper, with the umbilical stump poorly cut and mildly infected.
He was taken to a nearby hospital — local accounts name the Women’s Hospital — then placed with the Tlalnepantla DIF for pediatric evaluation and legal protection. The State of Mexico Attorney General’s Office opened a file on abandonment and is reviewing street cameras to identify who left him.
The neighbor’s alert, police said, is why the infant reached care alive.
