Statue of Nefertiti

This figure is thought to depict an older Queen Nefertiti, based on subtle details in her facial features. Scholars note the fine line work, including tear troughs, nasolabial folds, and deeper frown lines at the corners of her mouth—details more pronounced than in earlier statuary of the queen.

The slight droop of the bust in profile further contributes to the impression of age, suggesting Nefertiti in her early to mid-forties.

Although the exact circumstances of Nefertiti’s death remain unknown, this statue offers a rare glimpse into her later appearance.
