Lady of Çatalhöyük

This Neolithic female figurine comes from Çatalhöyük, central Anatolia, dating to c. 6300–6000 BC. Crafted from marble or recrystallized limestone, it measures 17 cm high × 11 cm wide and weighs approximately 1 kg  .

The figurine was uncovered in 2016 on a house platform in the southern area of the Çatalhöyük settlement (Konya Province, Turkey), found beside an obsidian blade   and sealed under layers of packed earth and white plaster. It is now housed in the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations, Ankara  .
