Mortal Kombat II (2026) is the highly anticipated sequel to the 2021 Mortal Kombat reboot, bringing the brutal, high-octane martial-arts fantasy tournament back to the big screen with even bigger stakes and more iconic fighters. This time, they’re joined by Karl Urban as Johnny Cage, the cocky Hollywood martial artist whose celebrity ego clashes perfectly with the deadly seriousness of the tournament, and newcomers like Adeline Rudolph as Kitana, Tati Gabrielle as Jade, and Martyn Ford as the tyrannical emperor Shao Kahn, setting up epic battles fans have dreamed of seeing on screen.

The story centers on the legendary Mortal Kombat tournament itself — a no-holds-barred clash where Earthrealm’s greatest champions must fight to prevent Shao Kahn from conquering their world and ushering in an age of darkness. Originally slated for late 2025, Mortal Kombat II was strategically delayed to May 15, 2026 to give it a prime summer blockbuster launch, following a massive fan response to its red-band trailer.
