SKAL: FIGHT FOR SURVIVAL (2023)

Skal: Fight for Survival (2023) is a Canadian thriller-action survival film that throws a modern apocalyptic twist on social media culture. The story follows Arthur, an Internet celebrity celebrating his milestone of 3 million followers, whose party suddenly collapses into chaos when a mysterious global catastrophe causes all the water in the world to disappear, forcing him and his group of friends into a desperate struggle to stay alive in a collapsing world.

The cast is led by Evan Marsh as Arthur, portraying a self-absorbed online star whose journey from party host to survivor fuels much of the film’s tension. Chris Sandiford appears as Steve, one of Arthur’s friends, while Mariah Inger plays Malika, another member of the group trying to cope with the sudden apocalypse. Olivia Scriven portrays Emma, and Trevor Hayes appears as a Police Officer they encounter along the way.

Directed and co-written by Benjamin Cappelletti (with screenplay contributions by Guillaume Grélardon), Skal: Fight for Survival runs about 77 minutes and blends elements of action, thriller, and post-apocalyptic horror. The film has been noted as a low-budget survival story and holds a low audience rating on review sites, reflecting its rough execution and divisive reception.
