United States Revokes Over 100,000 Visas, a 150% Surge Compared to 2024

The U.S. State Department has confirmed that more than 100,000 visas were revoked in 2025, marking a 150% increase compared to 2024, as President Donald Trump intensifies immigration enforcement during his second term.

Officials say the crackdown targets not only undocumented immigrants but also visa holders who violate U.S. laws. Among those affected are around 8,000 international students and 2,500 skilled-worker visa holders, many linked to criminal offenses.

Common reasons for revocation include overstaying visas, DUI offenses, violent assaults, and theft. The State Department has also launched a Continuous Vetting Center to monitor foreign nationals in real time.

Visa screening has tightened further amid global tensions, with increased scrutiny of political activities, including statements related to the Gaza conflict.

Observers expect U.S. immigration policies to remain increasingly restrictive in the years ahead.
