Emails Reveal Elon Musk Discussed Visiting Jeffrey Epstein’s “Notorious Private Island”

Newly released documents show that tech billionaire Elon Musk exchanged emails with Jeffrey Epstein about potentially visiting his private island, Little Saint James, as controversy surrounding the Epstein files continues to intensify in the United States.

According to documents made public, including emails from 2012–2013, Musk communicated with Epstein about the possibility of traveling to the financier’s private Caribbean island.

The correspondence indicates that Epstein discussed transportation arrangements with Musk for a trip to Little Saint James, an island in the U.S. Virgin Islands owned by Epstein that later became the focal point of numerous sexual abuse allegations.

In a November 2012 email, Epstein asked Musk how many people he would like transported to the island by helicopter. Musk, currently the world’s richest man, reportedly replied that it would likely be just himself and his then-partner, actress Talulah Riley. He also inquired which day or night on the island would be the “wildest party.”

In December 2013, while planning a year-end Caribbean trip, Musk again contacted Epstein, saying he would be in the British Virgin Islands and St. Barts and asking whether there would be “a good time to visit.” Epstein responded that it would be better to come after the New Year and added, “There is always room for you,” followed by, “I will pick you up.”

It remains unclear whether Musk ever actually set foot on the island.

Musk has previously denied visiting Epstein’s island, stating that he declined the invitations. In a 2025 post on X, Musk wrote that Epstein “tried to invite me to his island and I DECLINED,” after U.S. House Democrats released a version of Epstein’s schedule that referenced a potential visit by Musk.

Jeffrey Epstein died by suicide in a New York jail cell in 2019 while awaiting federal trial on charges of sex trafficking minors.

Musk–Trump Public Feud Over the Epstein Files
Elon Musk and U.S. President Donald Trump became embroiled in a heated public dispute that escalated on June 5, 2025, when Musk made a stunning allegation that Trump’s name appeared in the Epstein files.

In a post on X, Musk wrote: “Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That’s the real reason they have never been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!” He followed up with another post: “Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out.”

The accusation came shortly after Trump threatened to terminate federal contracts and subsidies awarded to Musk’s companies, including Tesla and SpaceX. Writing on Truth Social, Trump stated: “The easiest way to save money in our Budget, Billions and Billions of Dollars, is to terminate Elon’s Governmental Subsidies and Contracts.”

The war of words intensified further as Musk — who had donated more than $200 million to Trump’s campaign and once described himself as the President’s “first buddy” — publicly criticized the administration-backed legislation known as the “One Big Beautiful Bill.” The bill sought to extend tax cuts, strengthen immigration enforcement, and eliminate consumer incentives for electric vehicle purchases.

Musk called the bill a “disgusting abomination,” warning that it would add trillions of dollars to the U.S. national debt.

However, by September 2025, Musk and Trump were reportedly on better terms after appearing together at a memorial service in Arizona for conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who had been killed.
