Maya Jama Speaks Out for the First Time After £4 Million Mansion Burglary

Television host and model Maya Jama has spoken publicly for the first time following a shocking burglary at the £4 million (approximately $5 million) mansion she shares with her boyfriend, Manchester City star Rúben Dias, while both were away.
According to a report published by The Mirror on February 1, the break-in occurred at the couple’s luxury property located in the Cheshire Golden Triangle, an exclusive residential area popular with Premier League footballers. At the time of the incident, the house was unoccupied, as Jama was in South Africa filming Love Island: All Stars, while Dias was away on professional duties.

British media reported that a group of intruders forced their way into the property and stole a number of high-value items, including jewelry, electronic devices, and designer clothing. The burglary was discovered at around 11:00 p.m., when Dias returned home to find the house ransacked and immediately alerted the police.
Maya Jama later confirmed the incident via her Instagram account, asking for privacy while reassuring fans that she and her partner were safe.
“I don’t like talking about things like this as it can easily become gossip, but thank you for all the messages. We’re okay,” she wrote.

Police confirmed they received the emergency call at 11:10 p.m. on January 28 in Alderley Edge. Officers attending the scene found clear signs of forced entry and confirmed that several items had been taken. The investigation is ongoing.
Despite being equipped with a high-tech security system—including CCTV surveillance, zoned alarm systems, electric gates, and regular security patrols—the nearly 600-square-meter mansion was still targeted. The property also features luxury amenities such as a swimming pool, spa, gym, and an indoor entertainment area.

Born in 1994 in Bristol, Maya Jama is a prominent television presenter and fashion model of Swedish and Somali heritage, widely admired for her confident hosting style and distinctive looks.
Before becoming the face of the UK version of Love Island, Jama worked with MTV, BBC Radio 1Xtra, and Capital XTRA, and has served as a brand ambassador for several major global fashion and beauty labels.
