Kanye West is reportedly trying to salvage his marriage following a series of controversial statements. The rapper has sought psychological treatment at the request of his wife.

According to The Sun, Kanye West and Bianca Censori came close to divorce around this time last year. The architect was said to be considering leaving after the backlash surrounding West’s extremist remarks. She reportedly issued a “marital ultimatum,” demanding that he seek professional help if he wanted the marriage to continue. West had previously been diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

In an effort to repair their relationship, West traveled with his wife to Balance Rehab Clinic on the island of Majorca—a high-end wellness retreat specializing in medically supervised mental health and addiction treatment for high-profile individuals.

“Kanye going to Majorca with her meant a great deal to Bianca,” a source said. “It reassured her that he was willing to meet her needs and also gave them a chance to unwind. At first, he enjoyed the time there, then they began openly discussing their issues—their desires, needs, wounds, and hopes for the future—before attending joint counseling sessions.”

West later continued treatment at another facility in Switzerland. Sources say his willingness to undergo therapy has been a key factor in helping the marriage weather the crisis, at least for now. Music mogul George Daniels noted that those around West have observed a noticeable change in him, both in appearance and behavior. However, he also pointed out that the rapper’s volatile personality and history of mental illness have repeatedly placed strain on the relationship.

A few days ago, West publicly apologized for his past antisemitic remarks in The Wall Street Journal and in an interview with Vanity Fair. He admitted to going through a severe depressive episode, believed to be a side effect of antipsychotic medication used during treatment for bipolar disorder.

Kanye West and Bianca Censori are said to have begun their relationship in early 2023 and later held a private wedding ceremony. In public, West has repeatedly referred to Censori as his wife and spoken of her as part of his family. However, according to People, ongoing instability has left the marriage facing significant challenges.

Previously, West was married to Kim Kardashian from 2014 to 2021. They share four children: North (12), Saint (10), Chicago (8), and Psalm (6).
