Angelina Jolie Puts $25 Million U.S. Mansion Up for Sale, Plans to Leave Hollywood

Hollywood star Angelina Jolie is reportedly planning to leave the United States and relocate to Europe or Cambodia. She has listed her Los Feliz mansion in Los Angeles for sale at an asking price of $25 million.

The property has been home to Jolie and her children since 2017, following her divorce from actor Brad Pitt. Speaking about her intention to leave the U.S., the actress said she hopes to enjoy a quieter, more private life with her children.

According to Page Six, this year Jolie plans to split her time between New York—where she owns the fashion brand and creative space Atelier Jolie—and locations in Europe and Cambodia, a country where she holds dual citizenship.

Cambodia holds deep personal significance for Jolie. After filming Tomb Raider, she developed a lasting connection with the Southeast Asian nation through humanitarian work and the establishment of charitable initiatives. It is also the birthplace of her eldest adopted son, Maddox.

In 2003, after adopting Maddox, Jolie purchased land in Cambodia and later transformed it into a large estate featuring expansive grounds, gardens, a swimming pool, and a private studio.

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, the Oscar-winning actress said she hopes to spend “more time in Cambodia” and move toward a more discreet lifestyle. “When I first started my career, there wasn’t the expectation that artists had to live so publicly or share so much of their private lives,” she said.

A source told Page Six: “Jolie can hardly escape trouble. The only way she can truly rest is by leaving.” Jolie herself has previously admitted she never wanted to live full-time in Los Angeles but stayed for the sake of her children.

In 2021, Jolie moved into a Los Angeles home so her children could remain close to their father. Brad Pitt reportedly lives about a five-minute walk away.

According to actor and producer Jae Benjamin, who has known Jolie since 2005, her decision to leave the U.S. is driven by a desire for privacy and peace after years in the spotlight. “After everything she went through with Brad Pitt, the only real way to rest is to leave Hollywood,” he said.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt began dating in 2004, married a decade later, and lived together for only two years. Over more than a decade together, they had six children: Maddox, Pax Thien, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Vivienne and Knox.

In June 2016, Jolie filed for divorce. After eight years of legal battles over custody, the proceedings were finalized, with Jolie awarded primary custody and Pitt granted visitation rights.

In a 2024 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Jolie said: “I stayed in the U.S. because I was going through a divorce, but once my children turn 18, I’ll be able to leave.”

Meanwhile, Brad Pitt remains closely tied to Hollywood and currently lives with his girlfriend Ines de Ramon. His production company Plan B Entertainment, based in Los Angeles, continues to back several successful film projects.

Four of the couple’s six children are now adults. In July, twins Vivienne and Knox will turn 18. U.S. media report that the children have gradually dropped their father’s surname and chosen to keep their mother’s, as a sign of support for Jolie.

Beyond the custody dispute, the former couple is also embroiled in a legal battle over the French estate Château Miraval. According to Business Insider, each side has spent an estimated $1 million on legal, advisory, and public relations fees.

In her latest legal filings, Angelina Jolie stated that the divorce caused significant emotional trauma for both her and her children, particularly during the dispute over control of their shared French estate.
