🚨⚖️🕯️ An 18-Year-Old Apprentice Killed Over a €93 Phone Bill: The Trial Begins

What began as an ordinary summer day inside a telecom store in Claye-Souilly, Seine-et-Marne, ended in tragedy that still echoes years later.
Théo Muxagata, just 18 years old, was an apprentice sales assistant at a Bouygues Telecom shop, learning his trade and building his future. On July 10, 2021, that future was violently cut short.
💳 A Dispute Turns Deadly
According to investigators, a 65-year-old customer entered the store furious over an out-of-plan charge of €93.62. A fellow employee, Dany, attempted to resolve the complaint and calm the situation.
But tensions escalated rapidly.

🔪 Violence in Seconds
The man allegedly pulled out a 13-centimeter knife, first stabbing Dany in the chest. He then turned on Théo, plunging the blade directly into the teenager’s heart.
Théo tried to flee the store but collapsed just outside. He died at the scene. Dany, rushed to the hospital in critical condition, survived his injuries.
🚔 Arrest and Trial
The suspect was arrested moments later. This Tuesday, February 17, the trial of Théo’s alleged killer opened in court, bringing renewed attention to the devastating events of that day.

⚖️ A Question of Responsibility
Central to the proceedings is the defendant’s psychological state. His mental health evaluation could influence sentencing, potentially leading to a more lenient penalty — a possibility that has reignited debate about criminal responsibility and justice.
🕊️ A Life Remembered
Beyond the legal arguments lies the memory of an 18-year-old at the start of adulthood — a young apprentice who went to work and never returned home.
