On a cold and silent night, a small cat lay barely moving near the side of a road. Its body was frail, its fur dirty and matted, and its breathing was weak. Anyone who saw it could tell—it was in a very serious condition, hanging on by the thinnest thread.

Most people passed by, thinking it was already too late.
