Not Broken… Just Learning

At first, it might seem confusing—the way a small monkey hugs its teddy bear tightly, only to push it away moments later. The movements feel uncertain, even contradictory. As if something isn’t quite right.
But maybe… nothing is broken.
Maybe it’s simply learning.

In a world it doesn’t yet understand, everything feels new, overwhelming, and unpredictable. There are emotions it cannot name, sensations it cannot explain. And without guidance, without the gentle reassurance it needs, it begins to figure things out the only way it can—through trial, through instinct, through feeling.
It hugs—because it needs comfort.
It pushes away—because it feels overwhelmed.
Then it returns—because something inside still longs for connection.
This isn’t confusion.
This is growth.
The little monkey is learning how to love.
Learning how to trust.
Learning what it means to feel safe.
And learning is rarely smooth.
It comes with hesitation.
With mistakes.
With moments that don’t make sense at first.
But that doesn’t make it wrong.

It makes it real.
And maybe that’s where this quiet moment reflects something deeper—something we all carry within ourselves. Because we, too, are still learning. Learning how to open up without fear. Learning how to stay without running. Learning how to hold love without feeling lost in it.
We don’t always get it right.
Sometimes we hold on too tightly.
Sometimes we push away too quickly.
Sometimes we don’t understand our own reactions.
But that doesn’t mean we’re broken.
It means we’re in the process.
So if you ever find yourself feeling unsure, reacting in ways you don’t fully understand, struggling to balance closeness and distance—be gentle with yourself.
Just like that small monkey…
you’re not broken.
You’re just learning.
