CONFIRMED: TRUMP PLANS TO PUNISH NATO COUNTRIES BY RELOCATING TROOPS BASED ON WHO WAS “LOYAL” DURING THE IRAN WAR NT

The Wall Street Journal confirmed it Wednesday: the Trump administration is considering moving US troops out of NATO countries deemed “unhelpful” during the Iran war and stationing them in countries that were more supportive of the military campaign.
The US currently has about 84,000 troops stationed across Europe. The plan would turn a 75-year military alliance into a seating chart based on loyalty. Countries potentially receiving troops include Poland, Romania, Lithuania, and Greece.

Context is key. Spain closed its airspace to US jets. Italy denied landing permission to US military aircraft in Sicily. France blocked its airspace for transporting weapons to Israel. Poland refused to send Patriot batteries to the Middle East. Trump called them all “very unhelpful” and labeled NATO a “paper tiger.”

Trump met with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte at the White House on Wednesday. Leavitt said the conversation would be “very frank and candid.” But former US Ambassador to NATO Ivo Daalder summed up the problem: “Military alliances are at their core based on trust. It’s hard to see how any European country will now be able and willing to trust the United States to come to its defense.”
