Gal Gadot served in the military before becoming a Hollywood star. She completed two years of mandatory service in the Israel Defense Forces as a combat fitness instructor, an experience she says helped prepare her physically and mentally for action roles like Wonder Woman. She was crowned Miss Israel at just 18 years old.

After winning the title in 2004, she went on to compete in Miss Universe, launching her international career. She performed many of her own stunts. While filming Wonder Woman, Gadot trained extensively in sword fighting, martial arts, and horseback riding — even filming some scenes while pregnant.
