Yesterday at the intersection of Highway 229 and Highway 101, a local produce vendor was reportedly targeted in a frightening incident that witnesses are calling one of the most disturbing things they’ve seen in a while.

According to multiple people who were there, a man walked up to the stand, started flipping over crates of fresh produce, and then allegedly went after the woman working — grabbing at her and trying to assault her. Witnesses say he had a handgun visible on his hip the whole time.

Even worse, they claim he’d been showing up and harassing her for **days** before this. And during the confrontation, he reportedly shouted racial slurs and told her to “go back to Mexico.”

When her husband and another person tried to step in and protect her, the man allegedly attacked them too.

Oregon State Police responded with several troopers and have opened an investigation. Right now they haven’t released the suspect’s name, any charges, or official updates. This is still a developing situation.
