THREE FAMILY MEMBERS FOUND DEAD IN ALTON HOME: SUSPECT HELD WITHOUT BOND IN SHOCKING CASE

Authorities in Alton are investigating a devastating triple homicide that has left a community in disbelief and a family completely shattered.

Law enforcement officials confirmed that Gaurav Chopra has been arrested in connection with the deaths of three relatives inside a home on Roosevelt Avenue.

The victims have been identified as Sweeta Ram, 56, Kamlesh Rani, 46, and Minder Kaur, 73. According to Hidalgo County Sheriff Eddie Guerra, all three suffered fatal gunshot wounds to the head.

Deputies initially responded to the residence on Tuesday after reports of a serious incident inside the home. Upon arrival, two individuals were found deceased at the scene, while a third victim was transported to hospital in critical condition.

Despite medical intervention, that third victim later died from their injuries, bringing the total death toll to three.

Investigators have not released a confirmed motive, and officials say the circumstances leading up to the shootings remain under active investigation.

Chopra has been charged in connection with the killings and is being held without bond as the case proceeds through the justice system.
