Father and Son Jimmy Don Lewis and Brayden Ty Lewis Killed in Plane Crash After Attending St. Louis Cardinals Game; Radar Contact Lost in Storm

Illinois — A father and his 22-year-old son were killed when their small plane apparently flew into a developing storm on their way home from a St. Louis Cardinals baseball game. Jimmy Don Lewis and Brayden Ty Lewis lost radar contact after the aircraft began a turn, possibly attempting to avoid inclement weather, before entering what appeared to be a descending spiral.

The plane crashed near Waterloo, Illinois. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene. The tragedy has left their family and community in mourning.
Investigators are examining the final moments of the flight as preliminary findings point to weather as a factor.
