Video Shows Canadian Woman Accused of Slapping Teen on New Jersey Boardwalk Following Dispute Over Patriotic Clothing

A video circulating on social media appears to show a Canadian woman accused of slapping a 16-year-old girl on the boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey, following an argument over clothing displaying patriotic and political messages.

According to police, the incident occurred on the evening of July 3, just before the U.S. Independence Day holiday. The teenage girl was reportedly wearing clothing featuring pro-Donald Trump and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) slogans. Surveillance footage and witness videos allegedly show the woman approaching a group of teenagers before an altercation took place, during which she is accused of striking the girl.

Police identified the suspect as Kaitlyn E. Tracey, 33, a Canadian citizen. She has been charged with simple assault, endangering the welfare of a child, harassment, and obstruction.

According to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Tracey legally entered the United States in 2024 but allegedly overstayed her visa, making her subject to immigration enforcement proceedings. After appearing before local authorities, she was transferred into the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) pending further immigration action.

The incident has drawn widespread attention online, sparking debate over politically motivated confrontations and the enforcement of U.S. immigration laws. At this time, the criminal charges against Tracey remain allegations, and no court has issued a final verdict in the case.
