She was only 4 years old. She should’ve been leaving the dentist with a sticker… not in a body bag. nt

Aithana’s mother took her to a Fort Worth dental office for what should have been a routine tongue-tie procedure.
Instead… she never got to take her baby home.

According to police, Aithana never woke up after the procedure. Investigators say she was given a dose of medication that the medical examiner determined would have been toxic even for an adult.
As panic set in, investigators say critical mistakes were made. Staff allegedly failed to recognize signs that she was in respiratory distress, didn’t use the proper equipment to help her breathe, didn’t administer Narcan, and even misinterpreted pink foamy fluid from her nose—a possible sign of fluid in her lungs. A visiting dentist reportedly began CPR before first responders rushed Aithana to the hospital.
