ANESTHESIOLOGIST ALLEGEDLY HUNTED DOWN HIS OWN DOG PRIOR TO STRANGLING HIS WIFE

As questions continue to surround the sudden death of 36-year-old nurse Alexandra “Allie” Hummel, someone close to her is now speaking out about an alleged disturbing incident they say occurred during Allie’s marriage to Missouri anesthesiologist Dr. Andrew Michael Hummel.
The individual claims Allie reached out approximately two and a half years ago after temporarily leaving Andrew following an incident at their home.
According to the individual, Andrew had a beloved dog for 10 years named Rascal. When Rascal became seriously ill and was suffering with bi chances of getting better, Allie wanted to take him to the vet to be humanely put down.
Andrew allegedly wanted to handle the situation himself.
The disagreement escalated into a physical altercation between Allie and Andrew.
The individual alleges Andrew then drank a bottle of whiskey and went after the dog with a firearm on his property, essentially “hunting” down his own dog. His first shot allegedly struck Rascal in the paw, leaving him injured. The individual claims that after the wounded dog slowed down, Andrew approached him and shot him three additional times at point-blank range.
It was an incident the individual says Allie never forgot.
“After Allie saw him do this, she told me she knew what he was capable of doing to her,” the person said.
Years later, Andrew Hummel would find himself facing criminal charges involving allegations of violence against his wife.
On July 4, 2025, police responded to a Hilton hotel near St. Louis following reports of a domestic disturbance involving Andrew and Allie. Hummel was subsequently charged with second-degree domestic assault for allegedly strangling Allie and third-degree domestic assault for allegedly striking her in the face.
In March 2026, Hummel pleaded guilty to reduced charges of two counts of fourth-degree assault, both Class A misdemeanors, and was placed on probation.
Less than four months later, on June 23, 2026, Allie was found unresponsive inside the couple’s home in New London, Missouri. She was pronounced dead at just 36 years old.
An autopsy was ordered, and according to one of Andrew’s family friends, the preliminary report allegedly shows she was not strangled. Toxicology results are pending.
“I loved Allie, and I wish I could have helped her more,” the person said, before describing Andrew as “a monster.”
