Forever Remembering Rylie Addison McCarron

Thousands of people prayed for 9-year-old Rylie Addison McCarron as she bravely faced an aggressive form of cancer with remarkable strength and courage.

In June 2026, after a fall at home in the Wichita, Kansas area, Rylie was rushed to the hospital. Doctors soon discovered a large mass on her lung and diagnosed her with stage 4 T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma, a rare and fast-growing type of blood cancer. She was transferred to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City for specialized care. Despite intensive treatment, her condition deteriorated rapidly. Just days before her 10th birthday, her family received the heartbreaking news that there were no more medical options available.

Rylie passed away on July 12, 2026—her 10th birthday. In the short time between diagnosis and her death, she was surrounded by the greatest gift of all: the unwavering love of her family, including her mother Jacquelyn Hutchins, father Timothy McCarron, and siblings. Her mother later shared a deeply personal tribute: “My sweet, beautiful, perfect baby girl. You will NEVER be forgotten… A beautiful, messy, perfect 10 years with you darling.”

Rylie’s journey became a powerful reminder of courage, faith, and the endless love parents carry for their children. Even in the face of an aggressive illness that moved with devastating speed, those who knew her remembered a kind, joyful girl who brought light to others—laughing, including classmates, and leaving a lasting impression in her community.

After her passing, her mother discovered an invitation Rylie had made for her own 10th birthday party. Honoring that wish, the family and community gathered later in July for a celebration of her life at a local playground and splash pad (and related events). Gifts from the gathering were donated to children in oncology and pediatric units, turning personal grief into an act of kindness for other families facing similar battles.

Rylie Addison McCarron’s brief life touched many. Her story continues to inspire prayers, remembrance, and support for families navigating childhood cancer. She will be forever remembered for the strength she showed and the love that surrounded her until the end.
