A COMMUNITY UNITED FOR 12-YEAR-OLD XAVIER TAYLOR

In a single heartbreaking moment, 12-year-old Xavier Taylor’s life changed forever.

While returning to the dugout after warming up with his Maple Shade Youth Baseball team in South Jersey, Xavier was accidentally struck in the neck by a baseball.

He collapsed and suffered cardiac arrest before being airlifted to Cooper University Hospital.

Xavier remains in critical condition on life support as his family continues to hope and pray for his recovery.

Since the accident, an entire community has rallied around him.

Teammates, coaches, friends, and strangers have sent prayers, messages, donations, and words of encouragement to his family.

His father, Gregory Taylor, a retired firefighter, has described what happened as a tragic accident and said there is no one to blame.

For Xavier, baseball has always been more than just a sport.

He plays on three teams, collects baseball cards, and recently traveled to Florida for spring training, where he collected more than 200 player signatures.

Now, the game he loves has brought an enormous community together for him.

Every message of support is another reminder to his family that they are not facing this journey alone.

As Xavier continues to fight, his loved ones are holding tightly to hope.

A young boy who has spent so much of his life chasing baseball dreams is now facing the biggest battle of his life.
